Ireland
In Ireland Statkraft develops, owns and operates renewable production facilities. We are also involved in the trading and origination of power from our own projects and those of third parties.
The Statkraft Ireland team is based in Cork in south western Ireland, and in Tullamore in the Midlands region. The team has many years of experience, having previously been part of Element Power Ireland which Statkraft acquired in 2018. They had previously built a significant project portfolio of 1,300 MW in Ireland.
Ireland is one of the selected growth markets for wind and solar power in Statkraft, given the country’s significant renewable energy resources, particularly in terms of wind energy. Statkraft is already playing a leading role in the transition to a low carbon future, and believe that the company’s experience and capabilities will be of service to Ireland in this transition over the coming years.
Further investments in Irish renewables fit well into Statkraft’s growth strategy. The company’s global ambition is to become a major wind and solar developer with an annual development rate of ~2.5-3 GW by 2025. Statkraft Ireland’s aim is to play a significant role in Ireland’s transition to becoming a low carbon economy and we look forward to working with all interested parties including industry, communities and utility providers.
